Service Changes
Service changes may include modifications to frequency, schedules, trip times, routing or stop locations. COTA modifies service three times per year on the first Monday of January, May and September.
Service Change Public Meetings
To ensure all those within our communities have an opportunity to understand the decisions we make at COTA and provide input, we conduct a number of meetings throughout the year and encourage the public to attend.
Four public service change meetings are held before each service change takes place:
- 2 Public Comment Meetings where COTA presents the first draft of proposed changes for public comment.
- 2 Public Information Meetings where COTA presents the final changes for the upcoming service change.

Summary of Service Changes Taking Place on May 6, 2024
1 Kenny/Livingston
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
3 Northwest/Harrisburg
Weekday service frequency will increase from trips every 45 minutes to trips every 30 minutes.
4 Indianola/Lockbourne
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
7 Mt Vernon
Weekday service frequency will increase to trips every 15 minutes between downtown and E 5th Ave at Cassidy, with trips every 30 minutes on the branches to Easton and the Airport.
8 Karl/ S High/Parsons
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
9 W Mound/Brentnell
S outhbound route change through downtown Columbus. From Nationwide Boulevard heading westbound, turn left on High Street, then right on Spring St, then left on Marconi to continue along the existing route.
Line 9 will stop serving westbound Stop 7513 on Nationwide at High and southbound Stop 6321 on Front at Nationwide.
Line 9 will instead serve southbound Stop 4100 on High at Nationwide and westbound Stop 3142 on Spring at Front.
12 McKinley/Fields
On weekends, Line 12 will only serve McKinley Operations. Weekend service will no longer go to Fields Operations.
22 OSU-Rickenbacker
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
23 James/Stelzer
Weekday service frequency will increase from trips every 30 minutes to trips every 15 minutes.
Saturday service frequency will remain the same with trips every 30 minutes.
Sunday service frequency will increase from trips every 60 minutes to trips every 30 minutes.
34 Morse
Weekday service frequency will increase from trips every 30 minutes to trips every 15 minutes.
Saturday & Sunday service frequency will increase from trips every 60 minutes to trips every 30 minutes.
43 Westerville
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
71 Hilliard
Line 71 will extend north to Hilliard United Methodist Church Park & Ride.
72 Tuttle
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
73 Dublin
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
74 Smoky Row
St. Peters Park and Ride will close to customer parking. Stops at that location will remain open to customers. Nearby
St. Andrews Park & Ride will remain open to customers who wish to park their cars and ride transit.
CMAX Cleveland Ave
Minor schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.
Zoo Bus
Zoo service begins Saturday, May 11, and operates on weekends until Memorial Day. Beginning Memorial Day, May 27, and running through Labor Day, Sept. 2, the Zoo Bus will operate seven days a week.
Zoo Bus operates according to the holiday/Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.
