The largest Independence Day celebration in the Midwest is back! COTA offers the safest, easiest and most affordable way for you and your family to get to Red, White & BOOM! For just $4 round trip, you can skip the traffic and pricey parking and get dropped off right where the action is happening.

 

HOW TO RIDE

Plan ahead — download the Transit app and load funds onto your account to cover fares to and from downtown.

  • Adults: $4 round trip
  • Children ages 5 to 12: $2 round trip
  • Children four years old and under: No fare

You can pay for the entire family using COTA’s scanner system at the Park & Ride or bring exact change in cash.

 

TRIPS VIA COTA LINES

You can take nearly any COTA line for service to the downtown area, depending on your direction of travel. Before you depart, simply plan your route via the Transit app or at COTA.com. If you have questions, you can ask your operator. We’re here to help!

After the event, outbound trips will be available at designated boarding zones. On the map below, note that there are 13 boarding zones downtown, labeled B through N. Each boarding zone offers service for certain COTA lines.

REMEMBER:
The City closes the Broad Street bridge to vehicles and pedestrians during Red, White & BOOM! Customers who want to catch westbound rides home must board their COTA vehicles on the west side of the river. No traffic can pass from High Street to west of the Scioto river — including COTA. Customers who wish to catch Lines 6, 9 or 10 going west at the end of the event must board from zone N.

EXPRESS PARK & RIDE TRIPS

Once you pay at one of our five Park & Ride locations, you’ll receive a color-coded wristband to simplify your return trip. Provided information cards will point you to the correct downtown pickup location, and our entire COTA team will be on hand to help you find the right vehicle to get you back to your original designated Park & Ride.

WHEN TO GO

Service from COTA Park & Rides to BOOM! runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Return trips begin at 10:45 p.m. and continue until approximately midnight.
